Hi Everyone,

My name's Jay and I've just joined.

I have been eating about a 80% raw diet for a couple fo year snow and the benefits are amazing.

I just wanted to know if any of you have heard about Codex Alimentarius. Not only will it ban most supplements (including omega 3 and glucosamine which I take for my arthritis) under its rules which will soon be implemented almost globally (It will come into full force in the UK from the end of this year) all fruit and vegatbles will have to be irradiated. This means all the food we eat will be dead.

I changed to a raw diet to improve my health but it seems like it will be impossible to eat living food in the near future.

Does anyone have any ideas about this and suggestions as to what we can do?

thanks

Jay

Hey Jay,

Thanks for your post.

I have had the same concerns in the past and have realized that our future really depends on how well we know how to sustain ourselves.

Priority is learning to feed ourselves and not rely on others to bring food to our local grocery stores.

Here are some solutions....

Learning to grow, sprout and ferment your own foods...Sprouted Beans, Lentils and Nuts & Seeds are an amazing way to produce lively foods easily. Wheatgrass, Buckwheat Lettuce and Sunflower Sprouts are easy and fast to grow.

Finding a local spring to collect your water from... http://findaspring.com/

Pick up some books and read up online on wild edible plants in your area. There is an abundance of fresh greens, roots and herbs that you can include in your diet.

Connect with your local farmers and get to know who is making, growing and producing what near by and make some new friends :)

In terms of Codex....Stay positive. Our momentum and love for our planet and its people will bring us forth through this with grace and love.
