Hi everyone.
I live on Vancouver island and tried going raw this winter and now am giving it another go. I feel good when I eat raw food...steady energy, alive.. my digestion is good.
I have been a vegetarian who doesn't eat milk for years, so it is not too much of a transition.
The problem that I am having is that I am finding it hard to get enough food into myself. I do a physical job and find that about 4 times a day I feel slightly crazed due to hunger. This is why I quite last time. I think it is mostly a matter of getting better organized and also having my body get used to it. I need more heavy food recipes for staples...any suggestions?
Also I feel so excited about raw food I feel inspired to share it. I am thinking of starting a bit of a food bizness in the area (there is not anything currently in the area) Does anyone have experiences with this?
Sarah

Hi Countrygirl,
Glad to hear you are enjoying eating raw foods. With your physically active lifestyle, it sounds like you need to ensure you're eating enough food. Dr. Doug Graham and also Frederic Patenaude, suggest that we get more of our fuel from fruits, while being sure to also eat enough greens. If you're not already enjoying at least a litre of green smoothie each day, I'd recommend it. It will give you lots of fuel in an almost predigested form so that your body doesn't need to work hard to digest it.

You may want to check out Dr. Graham's website www.foodnsport.com. He is a raw athlete and coachs people. Look for the article "The One Car Theory" under "by Dr. Graham". I think you'll find it helpful. By the way, Dr. Graham will be coming to Victoria on September 13 and to Parksville on September 14. You'll see more info about it on RawBC's forum, and/or events section.

I live in Courtenay on Vancouver Island. You are welcome to give me a call or email me to discuss raw food businesses on the island. My contact information is on the home page of www.rawrose.com. Hope this info helps.

Hi Countrygirl,

I'm also new raw and am very excited about the changes in my health and body in the last few days. I also live on the island in Tofino and wanted to touch base and say hello. I also have a physical job as a massage therapist, but have been doing well so far. My contact information is loveheals85@gmail.com. Keep up the good work!

Stacey
